Welcome

Welcome to my first blog post! You may be thinking to yourself, Why am I here? Why did Emma, or someone else, send me the link to this page and tell me to “Check this out”? Well, I’m excited to say I am hiking 500 miles on the Colorado Trail this summer! Because not all of my family is on social media, I decided to start this blog to help my family stay in the know and receive more information than I will be posting online. Think of it as an “exclusive” club you get to be part of to follow your favorite novice explorer, and to see if I can actually complete a 500 mile thru-hike.

First, a bit of housekeeping. This blog could go two ways:

1. I do an AMAZING job keeping up on it and keeping everyone informed, go on this wonderful hike, upload beautiful pictures, and impress all of my family.
2. This turns into the world’s shortest blog and ends much too soon with a fat DNF on my record.

Let’s hope it’s option 1.

I want to clarify that I have no background in thru-hiking, blog writing, or photography, but we’re willing to give it our best effort. So, thank you for being here and for coming along with me on this journey.
